A two minute compilation of Yaya Toure "dominating the midfield" has gone viral and shows what a complete player the Ivorian was in his pomp.
Toure was a perfectly fine player during his time at Barcelona, where he won two La Liga titles and the Champions League in three seasons.

But it was at Manchester City where his game went up another level and he showed the entire world he was much more than a defensive midfielder.
Toure made the move to City in 2010 for a fee of £24 million and instantly cemented his place in the club's history in his first season, scoring two Wembley winners against Manchester United and Stoke City to win the FA Cup and end a 36-year trophy drought.

He then helped the club to a first league title for 44 years the following season.
In total Toure spent eight seasons at City, making 316 appearances and scoring 79 goals. He made the Premier League his playground and was always a man for the big occasions.
His highlights, which have garnered over 6 million views on Twitter, prove he was capable of doing absolutely everything on the pitch.

What. A. Player.pic.twitter.com/jlHSMNZ8IU
He could dictate a game from deep with a superb passing range but then he had the ability to maraud forward - a trademark feature of his game - with freakish power, pace and supreme dribbling.
Toure was so unbelievably gifted technically - with either foot - and some of the defence-splitting passes he was able to produce were just on another level.
The most underrated player the prem has ever seen. Better than Scholes, Lanpard and Gerrard but doesn't get the credit because he's not English and his agent made him a laughing stock off the pitch.

Yaya was the player pogba thought he was. Unfortunately he wasn’t even 5% of the player

Toure was better than Lampard and Gerard.

When you’re talking about GOAT midfielders in the EPL.

Know this
Yaya Toure is a better footballer than Steven Gerard & Paul Scholes.
But Scholes & Gerard are greater than him.
Same as Messi is better than Ronaldo but Ronaldo is greater.
Greatest midfielder to ever play in the premier league

But similarly, he scored a whole host of insane long-range efforts and was quite simply unplayable in his peak.
And there's no disputing that his absolute prime came in his ridiculous 2013/14 season.
In Manuel Pellegrini's first campaign, Toure, playing in a midfield two alongside Fernandinho, smashed in 20 Premier League goals and registered 9 assists in 35 outings.

Producing arguably the greatest season from a midfielder in Premier League history, he also scored 10/13 attempted free-kicks and had a 90% pass accuracy.
It was unfortunate for Toure that Luis Suarez was on fire for Liverpool as Yaya would definitely have picked up individual awards.

Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk did threaten to ruin his legacy somewhat - and then he didn't play much under Pep Guardiola - but the fact remains that the four-time African Footballer of the Year is one of the best to do it.
After hanging up his boots, Toure is now on a mission to become a coach and after doing his badges, recently earned a full-time gig with Tottenham.
