The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ is finally upon us.

And thousands of fans descending upon Australian and New Zealand shores – how good!

For us Aussies, it’s arguably the biggest sporting event Down Under since the Olympic Games in 2000.

Inspiring and captivating a nation; Cathy Freeman did it 23 years ago, now it’s Sam Kerr and Co’s turn.

For our future leaders and youngsters, it’s a golden opportunity to see our favourite players in the flesh doing us proud home soil – oh, and witness the Matildas win the damn thing, of course.

But it turns out that’s not the only thing our next generation can look forward to.

To celebrate the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023™, Optus is offering 64 Inspiration Grants to young Australians.

That’s right, to mark the 64 matches broadcast live on Optus Sport, Optus are awarding 64 Inspiration Grants, each valued at AU$3,000. That’s one for every match.

The grants, which are open for Australians aged 13 to 19, are used to encourage young kids around the country to turn their dreams and passions into reality.

Whether it’s a fashion label you’ve been sitting on for a while or even an activist campaign you’ve been dying to shout from the rooftops about, this grant can give you the financial support you need.

So, just like our inspirational Matildas have, say ‘yes’ to realising your full potential.

With submissions already open until August 20th, applying really is a no brainer.

If you’re aged 13-19, the first thing you need to do is head to optus.com.au/grants and share what future goal you are inspired to say yes to.

**Applications close 20 August 2023. T&Cs at optus.com.au/grants

Max Sherry is a journalist for SPORTbible Australia. After migrating Down Under from London as a teenager, he instantly fell in love with Aussie sport and its culture. From NRL to AFL, cricket to rugby — you name it, Max watches it (with a beer in hand, of course). During his time at Fox Sports, he worked in the football department covering the Premier League, A-League, Socceroos and Matildas. Born a stone's throw away from West Ham's training ground, Max is obviously a die-hard Liverpool fan.
