ITV announce pundits for Women's Euro 2025 as only one of Eni Aluko and Ian Wright included

ITV have announced their line-up for the summer's tournament in Switzerland.

ITV have announced their roster of pundits for Women's Euro 2025 this summer.

The tournament gets underway on July 2, with England among the favourites to win it as they look to retain the trophy they won in 2021.

ITV share the UK television rights with BBC, who have already announced their punditry line-up this summer.

Now ITV have followed suit, with a host of familiar names to audiences joined by some new faces.

Perhaps most notably, Ian Wright has not been named among the pundits despite the Arsenal legend being a regular feature on women's football coverage.

Eni Aluko, who scored 33 goals for the Lionesses, is included months after a row with Wright back in April.

In an interview with BBC's 'Woman's Hour', she claimed that Wright 'should be aware of' how much punditry work he does in women's football.

She would later apologise for the comments, an apology which the ex-Gunners striker said he 'could not accept'.

Aluko's statement explained: "In my interview with Woman's Hour this week, I was trying to make a broader point about the limited opportunities for women in football - whether that's in coaching, broadcasting or commercial spaces - and the importance of creating more space for women to thrive on and off the pitch.

"But it was wrong for Ian's name to be raised in that conversation, and for that I sincerely apologise. I've known and worked with Ian for many years and have nothing but love and respect to him."

The absence of Wright, who has rolled back his punditry duties in recent seasons, is not down to that row, sources told The Guardian.

Aluko has worked with ITV since the 2018 men's World Cup, and was, alongside Wright, a key part of the broadcaster's coverage of the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia.

She will be joined on punditry duty by Karen Carney, Emma Hayes, former Barcelona midfielder Vicky Losada and ex-Wales international Jayne Ludlow and former France star Laura Georges.

Real Madrid and Scotland midfielder Caroline Weir, meanwhile, will be the only active player featured on ITV's coverage.

Matches will be presented by Laura Woods and Seema Jaswal, while Seb Hutchinson, Sam Matterface and Pien Meulensteen will share lead commentary duties.

Lucy Ward, Siobhan Chamberlain, ex-Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Emma Byrne and former Wales defender Nia Jones will be on co-commentary.

BBC's Women's Euro 2025 line-up

BBC announced their line-up earlier this month, with Champions League-winning Arsenal boss Renee Slegers joining a host of established pundits including Jill Scott, Steph Houghton and Fara Williams.

Anita Asante, Ellie Roebuck, Nedum Onuoha, ex-Germany international Josie Henning, former Scotland defender Rachel Corsie will also be part of the coverage.

Gabby Logan, Alex Scott and Jeanette Kwakye have been named as the presenters, with Robyn Cowen, Jonathan Pearce and Vicki Sparks on commentary.

Ex-England internationals Izzy Christiansen, Rachel Brown-Finnis and Gilly Flaherty are on co-comms, along with former Wales striker Helen Ward.
