Paris Saint-Germain Star 'Agrees Terms' With Manchester United

He's keen on making the move...

Manchester United have reportedly agreed terms with PSG defender Serge Aurier.

United's interest in the Ivory Coast international was reported before the 2016/17 season had finished, with French outlet L'Equipe saying United were deep in negotiations for the former Toulouse man.

At the time, it was said that PSG were not too keen on selling him but the situation appears to have changed following the arrival of Dani Alves on a free contract - with the Brazilian expected to tussle it out with Thomas Meunier for the right-back berth.

That leaves Aurier surplus to requirements, and so the 24-year old is likely to leave to the Parc Des Princes.

And according to Paris United, typically reliable with PSG-related news, Aurier has agreed terms on a move to Old Trafford.

Antonio Valencia was in fine form for United at right-back last season and was in contention for the club's Player of the Year award.

But there is a need for extra competition next term, and a new right-back is said to have been earmarked as a priority signing by Jose Mourinho.

Aurier is the man identified, but there are still some issues to resolve for the transfer to happen.

Last year he was hit with a suspended two-month prison sentence after being charged with assaulting a police officer outside a nightclub - leading him to being banned from entering the UK for PSG's Champions League group stage clash with Arsenal in November.

At present, he is still prohibited from coming to the United Kingdom but an appeal has been launched into his custodial sentence. If Aurier is successful, there should theoretically be no issues in him signing for United, but the case going against him will pretty much kill any chances of him coming to English football.

It's certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
