Manchester City look set to add Aymeric Laporte to their squad to help them in their quest for four trophies but the Spaniard won't be the only piece of transfer business they do before Wednesday night is up.

It's not like Pep Guardiola's team needs any help in the Premier League but the Spaniard is also trying to win the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Champions League so is boosting his chances with the signing of Laporte.

Whilst Manchester City's owners pump yet more money into the two time Premier League winners they also own several other clubs around the world.

Now it looks like the English side are going to do business with one of their sister clubs by signing a player from New York City FC, although he won't be sticking around the Etihad for long.

According to ESPN the Citizens are set to sign English midfielder Jack Harrison from the MLS and then loan him out to Championship play-off hopefuls Middlesbrough.

The England under 21 international did look destined for a Premier League move to Stoke City but the Potters claim that they were "consistently thwarted by a moving of the goalposts on price," probably because Manchester City can sign him for whatever they want

Harrison has become a major part of Patrick Vieira's side. The former Manchester City midfielder and coach now managing in the MLS.

It is thought that City want to bring Harrison back from America as a decent showing in the Championship will lead to a decent profit further down the line.

27 year old American Mix Diskerud also made a move from New York to Manchester recently and he will also be loaned out to another club.

In 2016 we tried to work out who would be in England's 2020 squad, should we have picked Harrison?

Harrison has recently spoken about moving to England saying, "Everyone dreams of playing in the top leagues in Europe. The Premier League is one of the top leagues there."

The Stoke native might have to wait a while to play in the top tier but Tony Pulis' side are on the rise.
