Loris Karius' time in England seemed to come to an end when he was loaned to Besiktas in the summer but the Liverpool goalkeeper has faced some hardship but now there's another twist in his tale.
It's an unfortunate fact of life for Loris Karius that no matter what he goes on to do in his career he's likely to always be synonymous with the 2018 Champions League final and his mistakes in the game.
Karius was beaten by one of the best goals in a final ever, when Gareth Bale hit an overhead kick to give Real Madrid a 2-1 lead against Liverpool, but Karius' mistakes at 0-0 and 2-1 to give Real the initial lead and the final 3-1 scoreline, will be remembered just as much.
Inevitably the mistakes left the German devastated and Jurgen Klopp soon replaced him as the number one at Anfield by signing Alisson from Roma, for a then world record fee.

Karius was sent on loan to Besiktas with the possibility of a permanent move. However he has struggled for form in Turkey too, made some high profile mistakes, and is battling with Tolga Zengin to be number one.
There had been recent rumours that Besiktas wouldn't make the transfer permanent but, talking to Turkish outlet Harberle via Sky Sports, club president Fikret Orman revealed the hope to make the deal permanent, saying:
"Karius is an excellent keeper, God willing we will sign him on a permanent transfer.
"These stories [of him returning to Liverpool] are complete nonsense.

"Give Karius some time is all I'm saying. Karius has a lot of work to do but give him time."
The 25 year old has kept just one clean sheet in eight games for his new club, who he's on a two year loan deal with, but that clearly hasn't deterred the president of the club.
When the rumours first surfaced that Besiktas were ready to send the former Mainz number one back to Anfield he had a very good response on social media, posting on his Instagram story:
It seems that the German is preparing for a long future in Turkey, especially if the club president has anything to do with it.
