Liverpool Make Approach For Roma Goalkeeper Alisson

Liverpool have had issues with both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet this season.

Jurgen Klopp seems to have finally settled on Loris Karius as his first choice goalkeeper but almost as soon as that's happened the Liverpool manager is eyeing a move for a new number one.

When Loris Karius was signed last season it was felt that Simon Mignolet's time as Liverpool's number one was over. However last season he played more games that Karius and that theme continued at the beginning of the season.

Check out our ultimate sports fails:

Former Mainz goalie Karius has been in and out of the first team since arriving because of some high profile errors but then former Sunderland keeper Mignolet has hardly been a standard bearer of consistency.

Karius has recently won back the starting spot but many believe that Liverpool won't be title challengers until they invest in a better goalkeeper to help with their penchant for conceding goals.

They have long been linked with a move for Roma's goalie Alisson and now Sky Sports report that the Premier League side have been in touch with the Italian's through an intermediary in an attempt to have the signing done before the summer.

Roma have been attempting to get the 26 year old to sign a new deal in the belief that offers for him would be coming in the summer and they are thought to want a world record £62 million fee for the Brazil number one.

Liverpool are likely to be trying to get a deal in place early before they have competition for him. Fans in England have been impressed by Manchester City's Ederson but it's the Roma goalie who wears the gloves for the international team and he'll have more chance to impress in the World Cup.

Real Madrid and PSG could be competition for Alisson with both sides on the lookout for better options than they currently have.

Reds fans certainly seem on board:

Is this the signing Liverpool need?
