The Victor Oshimen saga has taken another big turn, as one club reportedly interested in him has pulled out of the race.

On Friday, reports suggested that Napoli had accepted a bid from Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli for Osimhen, believe to be in the region of £67.3m plus add-ons.

Chelsea are also said to be interested in signing the striker, but no official bid has come in from the London club.

And now, new reports have suggested that one club has pulled out of the race for Osimhen, adding another twist to the deadline day drama.

Gianluca di Marzio, via Get Italian Football News, has now reported that Al Ahli have pulled out of their move for Osimhen, as they have decided to focus solely on signing Ivan Toney.

The Englishman is currently undergoing his medical for the move which could see him earn €18million a year, should the deal be completed.

Meanwhile, Brentford are set to receive £40million after accepting Al Ahli's bid for Toney.

The Saudi Club also submitted a bid for Oshimen believed to be around £67.3m plus add-ons, which was accepted by Napoli.

The Nigerian striker has reportedly be offered around £33.6m a year of wages,

But now that the deal has fallen through, and with French journalist Fabrice Hawkins reporting that a deal with Chelsea may not materialise, it is possible that Osimhen would stay with Napoli for the time being.

If Oshimen proves to be impossible for Chelsea, then they could pursue a last minute deal for either Jhon Duran's Aston Villa or Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

He wrote on social media: “Should both Toney and Osimhen go to Al Ahli, Chelsea also considering Jhon Duran and Dominic Calvert-Lewin - but trying to negotiate swap deals."

The report added: “Toney’s future is interlinked with Victor Osimhen’s, even though they’ve never shared a pitch. Both are wanted by Saudi Pro League clubs. Both have been considered by Chelsea.

“It is possible the Stamford Bridge hierarchy move for whoever doesn’t go to Saudi Arabia. If they can’t get either, an attempt for Dominic Calvert-Lewin isn’t impossible.”
