Trent Alexander-Arnold could be on the move from Real Madrid and back to England after reports suggested a Premier League club has held talks with intermediaries about the defender.
The 27-year-old switched to the Santiago Bernabeu club last summer after leaving boyhood club Liverpool in the aftermath of him running his contract down at Anfield.
Alexander-Arnold scored 23 goals in 354 games for Liverpool with his trophy haul including two Premier League crowns, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
But his decision to depart where he had spent all of his career split opinion across the Liverpool fanbase, with some understanding the decision to head to Real, while others were angry at turning his back on the Anfield club.

Alexander-Arnold was poised to join Real on a free transfer last summer, but Real ended up paying a transfer fee worth a reported £8.4m to allow the defender to play for Los Blancos at the FIFA Club World Cup.
So far at Real, Alexander-Arnold has managed just 11 appearances for his new club, one of which was against Liverpool in the Champions League and where he was booed by home fans upon his return to Anfield.
Injury has impacted Alexander-Arnold's impact in his debut season in the Spanish capital, but away from that, he has only started five matches in La Liga when fit and available.
Now, reports have emerged linking him with a sensational return to the Premier League and to one of Liverpool's rivals in the summer.

Manchester City have been active in the January transfer window, bringing in attacker Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £64m and also signing defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace for £20m.
City trail Arsenal by four points in the Premier League table after the 2-0 victory over Wolves, ahead of the Gunners taking on Manchester United this afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.
And though Alexander-Arnold - who has four goals in 34 England caps to his name - is not thought to be on City's shopping list for this month, reports suggest the defender is firmly in their sights with the summer in mind.
According to TeamTalk, intermediaries are said to have held talks with Pep Guardiola's side over the prospect of signing Alexander-Arnold as City seek a new right-back.
The report states: "While no formal approach has been made, the Premier League champions are understood to be assessing the situation carefully."
Alexander-Arnold's deal at Real runs until the summer of 2031 after he penned a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.
