Real Madrid could reportedly target a Liverpool star to replace Toni Kroos in what would be a huge blow for Arne Slot.
On Tuesday, it was confirmed that German midfielder Kroos will call time on his illustrious career at the end of this summer’s Euro 2024.
Kroos said in a statement: “After 10 years, at the end of the season this chapter comes to an end. I will never forget that insolent successful time! I would particularly like to thank everyone that welcomed me with an open heart and trusted me.

“At the same time this decision means that my career as an active footballer will end this summer after the Euro championship.”
It has been claimed that Madrid could turn to Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister, who could be an ideal replacement for Kroos.
As reported by The Sun, reports in Argentina have claimed that contact between Liverpool and Madrid has started but no offer has been sent.

Mac Allister only joined Liverpool last summer as part of a huge midfield overhaul and has already impressed playing under Jurgen Klopp.
The 25-year-old started the season in a deeper positional as Klopp slowly bedded Wataru Endo in his side.
As the season went on, the Argentine moved back to his preferred number eight role.

Mac Allister ended his season in fine fashion as he headed in Liverpool’s opener during their 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Speaking in March, Klopp spoke about the impact Mac Allister has had at Liverpool.
He said: “Alexis is exactly the player I hoped he would be; super-influential, super-smart, great guy. [He] loves playing for Liverpool as well, which is really important.
“He’s a rhythm-giver, he’s a difference-maker, [he] can control moments of the game. [He is] always there, always involved, nothing is too much for him, he’s really a top, top, top player.”
