Real Madrid could offer PSG a spectacular swap deal ahead of their huge Club World Cup semi-final clash.
After a busy summer of football in the United States, the first of the new Club World Cup format is set to finish in the final at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Either Spanish giants Real Madrid or Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain will compete in the final, with the two set to face each other in an exciting semi-final clash on Wednesday evening.
With the two clubs busy winning their matches in the Club World Cup, they have each been understandably quiet in the ongoing summer transfer window.

But that could be about to change, as the possibility of the two clubs agreeing to a spectacular swap deal has emerged.

While Real Madrid secured early moves for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen and River Plate youngster Franco Mastantuono, PSG are yet to sign a new player this summer.
But the French champions are expected to get busy in the coming weeks, with reports suggesting that they could add another attacker to their already impressive forward line.

Just one of the names that PSG are believed to be interested in is Real Madrid star Rodrygo, amid rumours that the Brazilian is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of game time under new boss Xabi Alonso.
And should they decide to formalise this interest, it's possible that the Spanish club could be open to a stunning swap deal involving PSG defender Nuno Mendes, given their previous interest in the talented Portuguese international.
Back in 2020, Mendes found himself on top of an exclusive shortlist of players that Madrid were eager to sign, alongside the likes of Kai Havertz and Florian Wirtz.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Real Madrid made the difficult decision to close the door on all new signings in the summer of 2020, instead focusing their finances elsewhere.

Ultimately, this led to them missing out on Mendes, who committed his future to PSG despite the fact he only joined in August 2021 on a season long loan with an option to buy, which was later triggered by the French side.
Mendes has gone on to establish himself as one of the best defenders in the world, winning the Champions League and Ligue 1 with PSG and the Nations League with Portugal this season.
Therefore, it would come as no surprise if Real Madrid decided to reignite their interest should PSG make a formal offer for Rodrygo.

And with both players valued around €75-90million, a straight swap deal doesn't appear to be completely impossible.
