Manchester City are reportedly prepared to sell or swap two of their most promising players in order to secure the signature of their top transfer target.

On Wednesday night, Serie A giants Juventus handed City their ninth win in 10 games after beating them 2-0 at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League.

Many City fans have pointed to the absence of Ballon d'Or winner Rodri, who suffered an ACL injury in September, as the most likely reason for this poor run of form.

And now, a new report has suggested that the Premier League champions are considering a spectacular swap deal in order to fix the issues at the club.

According to CaughtOffside, Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz and City are prepared to offering both cash or players to secure a move for the attacking midfielder.

Wirtz, who is currently under contract with the German champions until June 2027, is expected to leave Leverkusen in the summer, leaving a huge gap due to his importance to the team.

Therefore, to fill this gap the Bundesliga club have reportedly picked out Man City duo James McAtee and Oscar Bobb as ideal replacements for Wirtz.

But City aren't the only Premier League side eager to bring the German international to the club, as both Liverpool and Arsenal have also registered their interest in securing his signature.

With the future of Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah still undecided, and Arsenal eager to add another option to their attack, both clubs are expected to ramp up their interest in Wirtz in the near future.

However, due to Leverkusen's interest in McAtee and Bobb, the Premier League champions appear to be in pole position for Wirtz's signature.

The 21-year-old is viewed as a potential long-term replacement for City legend Kevin de Bruyne, who has struggled to find a regular place in the team due to a series of injuries.

In total, Wirtz has made 175 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 51 goals and assisting another 55.

Over the summer, he was also a standout star for Germany as they hosted the 2024 European Championships.
