Mason Greenwood's 'most likely' destination revealed as source confirms Man Utd striker's preference

Mason Greenwood's 'most likely' destination revealed as source confirms Man Utd striker's preference

Greenwood's 'most likely' destination has been revealed.

Mason Greenwood's 'most likely' destination after he leaves Manchester United has been revealed, according to a new report.

Greenwood will leave United by mutual consent after a six-month internal investigation into his behaviour.

The 21-year-old has not played for the club, or trained with the senior squad, since being suspended in January 2022 following his arrest on suspicion of rape and assault.

He was charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in October.

Then, in February, the charges were discontinued by the CPS due to a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses, and new material that came to light, meaning there was 'no longer a realistic prospect of conviction'.

Greenwood's contract at Old Trafford ends in 2025, and the club will look to either sell him or loan him out this summer.

He will also not return to Carrington to train with the first team squad.

He has been linked with a potential move to Italy or Turkey, while the Daily Mail claimed that two Championship clubs had 'held discussions' over the forward before deciding not to advance their interest.

Now, a new report, via sources, have revealed the forward's 'most likely' next destination.

According to ESPN, via sources, the most likely destination for Greenwood is said to be a club in Saudi Arabia or Turkey.

In addition, sources close to United are said to have accepted that many clubs showing an interest in signing the forward will face opposition to his arrival - particularly in England.

The Athletic claimed in March that United had turned down offers from Turkish Super Lig clubs while their internal investigation was ongoing.

But with the investigation now complete and the final decision into Greenwood's future announced, a move to the division could now become an option if previous interest is followed up.
