Pep Guardiola has reportedly decided on Manchester City’s two top transfer targets to further improve his side.

After just two seasons in the Premier League, Manchester City have sold Julian Alvarez for a club record sale of £81.5m.

The World Cup winner will join La Liga club Atletico Madrid on a six-year deal and offer City the chance to further improve their already impressive side.

And a new report has revealed the two top targets that Manchester City boss Guardiola will look to target in the future.

As reported by The Athletic, the sale of Alvarez has resurfaced City's interest in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo who would instantly settle the ongoing debate on who will start on the right wing for City.

The Brazilian forward made 51 appearances for Madrid last season, scoring 17 goals and assisting nine while winning both the La Liga and Champions League titles.

However, despite Guardiola being a big admirer of Rodrygo, it is unlikely that a transfer for him can be completed this summer, with the transfer window set to close in just over two weeks on August 30.

The Spanish manager is also reportedly looking within the Premier League for one of City's next two big signings, with Crystal Palace star man Eberechi Eze the target.

The 26-year-old was under serious consideration by City leadership last summer and informal conversations have resurfaced about pursuing the midfielder.

Eze made 31 appearances for Crystal Palace last season, scoring 11 goals and assisting six, and is set to be perhaps their most important player in the upcoming season following the departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.

After making his tournament debut for England at Euro 2024, Eze's stock is at an all time high, likely meaning any deal for the player will cost City most of the money gained by the Alvarez sale.

Ahead of the Community Shield match against local rivals Manchester United on Sunday, Guardiola praised Alvarez

"It was a joy to work with him. I learnt a lot from him and hopefully he can find what he was looking for," said Guardiola.

"He believes his period here must be over so both clubs arrive to an agreement. He's incredibly loved by the team for his behaviour but like I said many times for many players, he wants to leave and have a new challenge."
