Manchester United’s new recruitment team have reportedly 100 per cent approved their first target ahead of the summer transfer window.

United endured a torrid 23/24 season as Erik ten Hag has failed to bring the best out of the players available to him.

The Red Devils finished in eighth place in the Premier League despite ending the season with two wins against Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

In Europe, their Champions League dream was shattered after they finished bottom of their group behind the likes of Bayern Munich, FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, it has been claimed that one of United’s top summer targets has already been approved internally.

According to Fabrizio Romano, via United Stand, who wrote on social media: “Michael Olise is 100% approved internally, across the new footballing department. There will be competition for him this summer, which may not make any deal for him a quick one.”

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise has enjoyed a decent season despite the Eagles struggling for the majority of the campaign.

In 19 matches in the 23/24 season, Olise managed 10 goals and six assists.

Earlier in the month, after their win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Palace boss Oliver Glasner was asked about whether the likes of Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze would still be at the club at the start of next season.

He said: “I hope all the players will be here. know the club will do everything to ensure they will play for Crystal Palace next season.

“I think what we can show from the sports department is that we are ambitious and they can benefit and make a big contribution to being successful.”

Glasner added: “That is what we can offer them, the rest we will see.”

After the final day of the season, Glasner was once again quizzed on the trio.

He said: “I am very confident they’ll be here because they have contracts and no one has told me they’ll be leaving. I think what we have done is that we have shown them that Crystal Palace have ambition.

“We have shown them how we want to play, which path we want to go down, which journey we want to ride together. They can show their strengths, qualities and personalities and express themselves.”
