Manchester United's eight-man shortlist for the January transfer window has emerged and it includes several Premier League stars.
The transfer window is open and Ruben Amorim could take full advantage of the market to strengthen his squad ahead of the second half of the season.
Man United currently occupy a spot outside of the Champions League spots as they look to secure European qualification after failing to do so last season.
The January transfer window represents a chance for Amorim to bolster his squad, with a host of players unavailable due to injuries and Africa Cup of Nations commitments.
It appears Amorim is prioritising a defensive midfielder as Casemiro enters the final six months of his contract and Manuel Ugarte struggles to hold down a starting place.
According to The Daily Mail, Man United have drawn up a shortlist that features six Premier League stars.
Who is on Man United's eight-man transfer shortlist?
Elliot Anderson is understood to be at the top of the list following his stellar performances for Nottingham Forest and England, having become a key player for Thomas Tuchel.
Anderson, 23, starred last season and has continued to produce heroics from the engine room of the pitch this campaign, even though Forest have failed to replicate last season's form.

Adam Wharton, Tyler Adams and Joao Gomes are among the other players Man United are interested in.
Wharton has been a consistent performer for Crystal Palace following his move from Blackburn Rovers and is attracting plenty of interest among Europe's elite, including Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Wolves' Joao Gomes is also an option. The Brazilian has made 14 league appearances this season and started in his side's midfield when they held Amorim's team to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
