Liverpool could be set to land millions as Newcastle line up Premier League transfer raid

Liverpool could be set to land millions as Newcastle line up Premier League transfer raid

Liverpool could earn huge chunk of transfer fee if Newcastle complete deal for England striker this January.

Newcastle have registered their interest in Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke, and a deal could be huge for his former club Liverpool.

The Telegraph claim that Eddie Howe's side have enquired about the availability of Solanke, who has been in the form of his life this season.

Newcastle already have Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak as attacking options, but with Wilson currently out until at least the end of the month, it could be a key area for Howe to strengthen.

Wilson is now 31 and has had consistent troubles with injuries this season.

Solanke's current return of 12 goals in 19 games is already twice as many as last season, with the English striker finally starting to live up to his potential.

The 26-year-old has one cap for England which he earned back in 2017, but with only Erling Haaland and Mo Salah scoring more Premier League goals this season a phone call from Gareth Southgate might be around the corner.

Bournemouth are expected to play hardball over their talisman and Liverpool would benefit massively from a potential transfer.

Solanke joined The Cherries from Liverpool for a total of £24m back in 2019.

The Englishman had a difficult time on Merseyside, playing just 27 times in all competitions with one goal to his name.

The overall fee was dependent on add-ons which have now been met but the Liverpool Echo say that buy-back and 20 percent sell-on clauses were also included.

Solanke has since signed two new contracts to keep him at the Vitality Stadium until 2027, however, the clauses are still believed to be valid.

With the striker's current form and the added treachery of the January window, Newcastle would be forced to pay a significant amount for Solanke's services which ultimately benefits Liverpool.

However, Bournemouth owner Bill Foley is adamant he is not open to selling the club's prized asset no matter the money involved.

"The door’s closed and bolted shut," he said on BBC Radio Solent Sport.
