Liverpool have reportedly agreed terms to sign a member of England’s World Cup squad for £55 million.
Despite most of Europe’s top players currently being in North America for the World Cup, Premier League clubs continue to work on potential transfers ahead of the window opening on June 15.
New Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s arrival has coincided with the Reds being linked with several Bournemouth players, including Alex Scott, Eli Junior Kroupi, Adrien Truffert and Rayan.
Meanwhile, several players have been linked with departures from Anfield, with Federico Chiesa and Curtis Jones’ futures both in doubt.

This leaves a void in Liverpool’s defence, although 20-year-old Jeremy Jacquet has already agreed to join the Premier League side. Fellow defender Giovanni Leoni is also recovering from an ACL injury.
Now, a report from the ECHO claims that England centre-back Jarell Quansah has agreed personal terms over a return to Liverpool.
Quansah, who came through the ranks at the Merseyside club, joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2025 in search of more first-team football in Germany, with Liverpool receiving a £35 million transfer fee.
The ECHO reports that the Reds inserted a buy-back clause into the deal, allowing them to re-sign the defender for £55 million.
The outlet claims Quansah has already agreed to his part of the deal, although it remains unclear whether Liverpool will exercise their buy-back option.
Quansah made 44 appearances for Leverkusen last season, scoring five goals. He is under contract with the German club until 2030.
Quansah speaks out on Liverpool exit
Speaking in April, Quansah admitted that deciding to leave Liverpool was an easy decision to make.
"To be honest, I wouldn't say it was the hardest decision because I just wanted to play," he said.
"I felt like I could play at the top level. The Bundesliga is a top league and being able to play in the Champions League and feature in big games was a huge opportunity.
"I think you just have a gut feeling. Sometimes you can't think about it too much and listen to too many people, to be honest, because you can hear a few things and get persuaded."
