How much former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard is set to earn in South Korea has reportedly been revealed.

Lingard left Old Trafford at the end of the 21/22 season and ended up signing for Nottingham Forest.

During his time with the Red Devils, Lingard made a total of 232 appearances across all competitions, scoring 35 goals including the winner in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace back in 2016.

At the end of the 23/24 campaign, Lingard left Forest upon the expiration of his contract.

Since then, the 31-year-old has been a free agent as he searches for a new club.

Lingard has trained with the likes of West Ham United and Saudi Professional League side Al Ettifaq, who are managed by Steven Gerrard.

In addition, clubs in the MLS have also reportedly shown an interest in signing the former United man.

Now, with only a few months left of the 23/24 season in Europe, Lingard is set to sign for South Korean side FC Seoul.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who wrote on social media: “Jesse Lingard has just signed in as new FC Seoul player. Deal confirmed, set to be announced soon.

“Medical tests completed yesterday, now all documents signed and time to unveil former #MUFC player as new signing. Here we go.”

According to a report by Korea JoongAng Daily, Lingard is set to become the K League’s highest-paid player when he completes his move.

It is believed that the midfielder will earn around 1.55 billion won per year, which equates to around $1.15 million.

Lingard is also set to become the seventh Englishman to play in the K League, following the likes of Jordan Mutch, Richard Offiong, Chris Marsden, Andy Cooke, Jamie Cureton and Dalian Atkinson.

FC Seoul will begin their new season with a match against Gwangju FC on 2 March.
