Jamie Vardy could play in Europe with a Premier League club next season as his future has taken a shock twist.

Vardy is set to depart Leicester City at the end of the season when his contract expires.

It will bring an end to his legendary 13-year spell at the King Power Stadium, having won the Premier League and FA Cup during his time at the club.

He scored his 200th goal for Leicester in his side's 2-0 win over Ipswich Town last weekend.

Speaking after the game, he said: "It's been amazing, it's been a rollercoaster, it really has.

"But the good thing is there's been way, way, way more highs [than lows] and I thank everyone. I never thought we'd be in the Champions League, we'd win the league, and we've all been there for a reason."

Vardy presents an attractive signing considering his talent, experience and availability on a free transfer.

Naturally, several clubs have been linked with his services as odds have emerged on his next club.

And, according to the Independent's Miguel Delaney, a new team has entered the race to sign Vardy.

Delaney claims this season's FA Cup winners Crystal Palace are 'considering a move' for the 38-year-old.

He has emerged as a surprise option for Palace, who plan to recruit heavily when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Vardy would add to Oliver Glasner's options in the forward areas, having proven his worth in the Premier League, who will team up with Coca-Cola as the league's official soft drink partner that kicks off for the 2025/26 season.

Palace will compete in next season's Europa League following their FA Cup triumph over Manchester City last weekend.

The veteran forward has European experience, having played in the Champions League following his team's Premier League success in the 2015/16 campaign.

Glasner, who masterminded Palace's first major trophy in the club's history, believes his side will be a 'more attractive' proposition after qualifying for the Europa League.

"We will be more attractive, of course," he admitted.

"Crystal Palace being in the Premier League is attractive - we have great players. Let’s see what the transfer window will bring - it will be a busy summer."
