There are still some big name free agents available following transfer deadline day

The transfer window may be closed, but that won't stop clubs from signing free agents in the coming days and weeks.

The transfer window may have shut on Friday across Europe, but that doesn't mean that clubs can't still find some re-inforcements through free agency.

Some clubs may feel like they did not recruit as well as they would have hoped in the window, but the magic with free agents are that they can be signed at any point in the year, transfer window open or shut.

A list of available free agents has surfaced online, and there are some huge names on there who would surely make a difference to some clubs in the Europe's top five leagues.

Premier League 2022/23 Golden Glove winner David de Gea features on the list, having been released following the expiration of his Manchester United contract - the Red Devils looked set to renew his contract but performed a U-turn following his calamities during last season's run-in, culminating in a mistake leading to Manchester City's winner in the FA Cup final.

His ex-Manchester United team-mate Jesse Lingard is also on the list following his release from Nottingham Forest in the summer, and though he may not have had a ground-breaking 22/23 season, he has shown that he is capable of the spectacular, both at United and West Ham.

A player who, four years ago, seemed destined for greatness at his new club has somehow found himself on this list - Eden Hazard has been without a club following the termination of his contract at Real Madrid, having moved from Chelsea for an initial £89 million in 2019, with the deal agreed potentially rising to £150 million in add-ons.

Hazard has been hampered by several injury problems which has brought his career to a halt, and may cause the Belgian to ultimately retire.

Ex-Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is also a free agent, after being released from PSG in the summer.

The 2014 Champions League final hero struggled with injuries in his first season at Les Parisiens, but recovered in his second, playing 45 games and contributing four goals in all comps at the age of 37.

Ramos looks like he still has something to offer and could offer a side a leadership role, similar to Thiago Silva at Chelsea.

Other recognisable names on the list are former Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos, ex-Juventus and Watford man Roberto Pereyra, and former Aston Villa man Anwar El Ghazi.
