Arsenal have finally confirmed the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham United for a British record fee of £105 million.

On Saturday morning, the Hammers revealed that the midfielder had left the club and the Gunners have now followed up with their own announcement.

In a bizarre transfer reveal, the club showed the beginning of their training review into the match in midweek on YouTube with all the players gathered.

Mikel Arteta then began talking and casually welcomed the latest addition to the squad, with the camera panning to Rice sat at the back of the group.

The manager then also introduced defender Jurrien Timber, whose signing was announced the previous day to the former West Ham star's move, as you can see in the video below.

Asked if he had anything to say by his new manager, Rice said: "Yeah, I'll say a few words.

"Obviously my first day. I'm really looking forward to playing with you all, sharing many good moments together. I've seen everything you guys have done the last couple of seasons.

"I'm really looking forward to getting started and hopefully enjoy winning some trophies together."

Arsenal will pay £100 million over the next 24 months and will owe their London rivals another £1 million every time they qualify for the Champions League, up to five seasons.

In a statement Arsenal Sporting Director Edu said: “Declan is a player with fantastic ability and a proven record at both club and international levels. The process of this transfer has been a big team effort with a clear plan, and we are so happy that Declan is joining us.

"Declan is a high-quality, young international player who will add great strength to our squad, fitting so well into our strategy of competing with young talented players at the centre of our club.

"It’s great that Declan will be joining up with Mikel, our coaches and his new teammates in good time ahead of the new season.”

The 24-year-old started at West Ham in 2014, after being released by Chelsea's academy, and went on to play 245 games for them across seven seasons.

Rice's final game for David Moyes' side saw him life the Europa Conference League trophy as captain and now he'll be hoping to bring silverware to north London.
