A major update on Alexander Isak's future has dropped minutes after Manchester United completed the signing of Benjamin Sesko.
Isak's future has dominated the headlines this summer with the Newcastle forward not currently training with the first-team as he attempts to push through a move to Liverpool.
The Premier League champions saw a bid believed to be worth around £110m rejected and reports insisted they would not return with a second bid unless given encouragement to do so by Newcastle.
Eddie Howe's problems have been compounded by the Magpies' inability to secure their transfer targets this summer with Sesko becoming the latest player to reject a move to St. James Park in favour of a switch to Old Trafford.

Newcastle had an offer accepted for the RB Leipzig forward but reports suggest they always believed his preference was to link up with Ruben Amorim in Manchester.
Just minutes after Sesko's move to the north west was officially confirmed by United, Isak's future has seemingly been made clear.
The Sweden international has been told by the Newcastle United board that he is not for sale and will not be sold this summer, according to The Telegraph.

Newcastle's decision has reportedly caused 'acrimony' and 'tension' with Isak left furious by the decision hence his current position in training away from the first team.
It adds Isak will not play for the club until he gets his head around the fact he will not be leaving in this transfer window. The approach is described as 'high-risk' from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund who have maintained the same stance all summer.

Howe was asked about Isak's possible re-integration to the first-team and admitted the striker was unlikely to be involved in their first Premier League game of the season against Aston Villa as a result of the uncertainty over his future.

The manager also confirmed Isak is no longer suffering from the thigh injury that kept him out of their pre-season tour in Asia despite Isak travelling to his former club Real Sociedad's training ground without Newcastle's permission.
"We’ve had discussions and it’s clear at the moment that we can’t involve him with the group,” Howe said. “I don’t know how long that will be for, but that’s the latest.
“I’d want Alex to be playing today, I’d want him training tomorrow. We would love the player to be with us.
”Let me make that absolutely clear. There’s no part of me that doesn’t want that outcome, but I don’t see the current situation changing for Aston Villa.”

Newcastle continue to be linked with a host of strikers, mainly Brentford's Yoane Wissa, and recent reports claim Porto's Samu Aghehowa is the latest name to be added to the shortlist after missing out on the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Hugo Ekitike.
None of the strikers Newcastle have targeted this summer were seen as direct replacements for Isak as per the Telegraph's report.
Isak remains under contract until 2027 at St. James Park.
