Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris has reportedly been offered the chance to leave the Premier League and triple his wages.

36-year-old Lloris first joined Spurs from French Ligue 1 side Lyon back in 2012 for a deal worth a reported £11.8 million.

Since then, he has become the club’s captain and has made 447 appearances for the North London club.

On the international stage, Lloris tasted glory in 2018 as he lifted the World Cup as France’s captain in Russia.

This season, Lloris has struggled for form and his season has also been hampered by multiple injury issues.

As a result, there have been reports that he will depart Spurs in the summer transfer window despite having one year left on his current contract.

According to The Times, Lloris has been offered a big money deal by a club in the Saudi Professional League.

The report stated that the club offered Lloris three times his current salary at Spurs, which is an estimated £100,000 per week.

Lloris’ last outing came in the dismal display against Newcastle United, in which Spurs ended up losing 6-1.

After the match, he told Sky Sports: “It is very embarrassing, we should apologise to the fans. We didn’t show a great face today. We could not match Newcastle’s performance.

“We were late in all the aspects. We completely missed the first part of the game. It is really painful today. It is not talking about tactics, we could not fight.”

He added: “It is difficult to assess. There was a lack of pride. To concede four goals in 20 minutes. We could not even react and bounce back.”

As a replacement for Lloris, Spurs have been linked with the likes of Jordan Pickford and Liverpool’s current number two, Caoimhin Kelleher.
