Arsenal and Tottenham have both been offered the opportunity to sign Brazil winger Tete, according to new reports.

The 22-year-old, who has featured for Brazil at U20 and U23 level, is currently on loan at French side Lyon from Shakhtar until the end of the current season.

He moved to the club in March following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. His Shakhtar contract, which expires in December 2023, was suspended by FIFA along with all other foreign players in Ukraine, and Tete was allowed to switch clubs outside of the transfer window as a result.

He has seven league goals and seven assists in just 22 appearances since joining Lyon, which has caught the attention of Europe's top clubs.

Tete starred with a goal and assist when Shakhtar defeated Real Madrid 3-2 in the Champions League in October 2020, and went on to reveal three clubs he would like to play for in the future.

He told BBC Sport: "My biggest dream is to play for Barcelona. Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Romario and Ronaldo represented Barca, and I would love to join that list. Obviously, starring against Madrid would do my cause no harm at all.

"I also follow Liverpool and Manchester United, and like each of them in equal measures, even though they are rivals."

It may well be another Premier League club that Tete signs for in the near future, however.

Tete 'offered' to Arsenal, Tottenham

According to 90min, a number of Premier League clubs have been offered the chance to sign Tete on loan in January, despite being currently contracted to Lyon until the end of the season.

These clubs include Arsenal and Tottenham, whilst Newcastle and Southampton are also said to have been approached.

It is claimed that new Lyon boss Laurent Blanc will allow the 22-year-old to leave, despite an impressive season thus far.

He replaced Peter Bosz in October, and the Dutchman previously praised his former winger upon his signing: "Tete's a special player. I've known about him for a long time, and I was surprised a player like him became available to OL. Normally he'd be unattainable.

"For me, his best position is on the right wing."

With the Gunners searching for a new winger, Tete could be the perfect solution if Mikel Arteta's side cannot bring in Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Ukraine winger, who currently plays for Shakhtar, is the club's priority target, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.
