As the 22/23 season reaches the home straight, the highest-rated players from Europe’s top five leagues have been revealed.

The world’s best football players are all plying their trades in one of European football’s top five leagues, which include the Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A.

Now, Sofascore have ranked the 10 players with the highest rating across the 22/23 season so far.

In tenth place with an average rating of 7.48 is Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes, who has been one of United’s standout players in Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge of the Old Trafford club.

Roma star Paulo Dybala has been ranked in ninth place with a score of 7.50, with Lille midfielder Remy Cabella in eighth with a rating of 7.57.

Next up is perhaps the least well-known player on the list, Toulouse’s Dutch defender Branco van den Boomen, who ranked seventh with an impressive score of 7.59.

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann came next with a score of 7.62.

Newcastle United full-back Kieran Tripper kicked off the top five with a score of 7.65, narrowly beaten to fourth by Bayern Munich man Joshua Kimmich, who had a rating of 7.67.

In third place in Paris Saint Germain’s Neymar, who has racked up a score of 7.69.

Kevin De Bruyne was ranked second after another stellar season with Manchester City earned him a score of 7.79.

The top player of the 22/23 season so far was rated much higher than the rest of the list.

PSG’s Argentina superstar Lionel Messi came out on top after receiving a brilliant rating of 8.20.

It has been a stunning season so far for Messi after he clinched the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar.

Although his PSG side were disappointing in the Champions League, they are on course to defend their Ligue 1 crown.

To date, Messi has made 36 appearances for PSG across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and assisting 19.
