Thomas Tuchel 'much appreciated' by major European club

Tuchel recently lost his job at Chelsea, just 15 months after winning the Champions League, and he's attracting interest from another team.

Thomas Tuchel could be back in work sooner rather than later, with the former Chelsea boss 'much appreciated' by Bayern Munich.

Chelsea fans were shocked earlier this month when Tuchel was sacked by the Blues in the wake of their Champions League loss to Dinamo Zagreb.

The decision from Todd Boehly came 100 days into the new owner's tenure and after the German had taken control of the team for the 100th time.

It was also just 15 months after the former PSG boss had helped lead the club to Champions League glory, beating Manchester City in the final thanks to some excellent tactics, that Pep Guardiola expertly described but could do nothing about.

Whilst the former Borussia Dortmund manager was emotional about leaving Stamford Bridge he'd surely be interesting in coming straight back into an elite team.

According to German outlet Bild, that could be at Bayern, where the 49-year-old is 'much appreciated,' following poor run of form for the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern have been crowned champions of Germany for the past 10 seasons, often winning at a canter, last failing to do so thanks to Jurgen Klopp's Dortmund in 2012.

However, they have had a poor start to the latest campaign and on Saturday lost 1-0 to Augsburg, which came on the back of three draws in-a-row in the league.

They're already five points behind surprise leaders Union Berlin, after just seven games, and, whilst they'd still be favourites for the title, manager Julian Nagelsmann is now under pressure.

Bild's report claim that the current manager has a 'secret clause' in his contract that would allow them to sack Nagelsmann if the team suffer another poor result, against Bayer Leverkusen following the international break.

Nagelsmann may be relieved to hear that Bayern are currently backing him, although it's very often a cliche in football that backing by the board only ever leads to a sacking.

Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn defended the current manager, saying that the club were not thinking about any other managers and were 'convinced' by the former RB Leipzig boss.

"We are not dealing with any other coaches now. We are totally convinced of Julian," Kahn told Sky Germany.

"Of course we are all dissatisfied, in a bad mood.

"We have to get to the bottom of it all. And assume that as soon as it starts again against Leverkusen, we will and must attack fully.

"Perhaps one or the other has taken hold of the belief that you could do the Bundesliga on the side. But that’s not the case."

Nagelsmann isn't the only one under pressure, with some of the players having also come in for criticism, including new man Sadio Mane.

The former Liverpool forward joined in the summer, after Robert Lewandowski's departure, but one pundit has claimed that the Senegal star isn't 'integrated' into Bayern's team yet and doesn't 'look happy.'
