'Drinking Chelsea fans' tears' - Thibaut Courtois savagely hits back at Blues fans who booed and insulted him

“He needed to tell them to shut up.” Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois pulled no punches towards the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge.

Thibaut Courtois brutally put Chelsea fans in their place after they heckled him during Real Madrid’s 2-0 Champions League win at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Madrid beat 10-men Chelsea 2-0 in the first leg of the quarter-finals at the Santiago Bernabeu before dumping the Premier League side out of the competition.

Rodrygo’s second-half brace in the second leg punched the defending Champions League title holders’ place in the semi-finals of the European tournament.

Courtois, who left Chelsea in 2018 to sign for Madrid, was met with boos and insults from the crowd during his return to Stamford Bridge.

However, the 30-year-old Belgium international appeared to have the last laugh after footage emerged of him kissing the Madrid crest in front of the Chelsea fans.

One fan said in response to the viral footage (watch it in the video player above): “I love him SM [so much]. Proper winner mentality.”

Someone else added: “He needed to tell them to shut up.”

“Love this, LOL. Best transfer in a long while,” a third fan posted.

Another Twitter user wrote: “I mean, f**k it, he already has more caps with Madrid than the almost decade he was in London.”

A fifth tweeted: “Bro drinking Chelsea fans’ tears.”

While a sixth commented: “Call him a [snake] all you want, he’s our snake now.”

Courtois, who had loan spells at Atletico Madrid during his time at Chelsea, revealed he left the Blues for Los Blancos in 2018 due to the “competitive” nature of the club.

“The only difference is that we now have confidence and momentum,” he said in 2018, as per Marca.

“Before this run, we did not have any luck, goals came at the wrong moments, the ball would have hit the post instead of going in, things like that.

“My run of games? I know how competitive this club is and how difficult it is for the coach to choose in positions in a lot of games, that is why I came here.

“We have a great spirit in the dressing room and we push each other on, we all get on very well and it is a good situation for us all.”
