Shakira and Gerard Pique's drama continued, with the recording artist partying with a former Barcelona star who used to work with the ex defender.

In June last year, the two famous partners revealed that, after 11 years together, they were splitting up, just weeks after Pique explained that their perfect life together was why they weren't getting married.

It has not been an easy ride for the World Cup winner since, whose lack of football at Barcelona forced him to retire from playing at the end of the year.

He was seen playing one of his ex's songs in his car, and the whole situation in his life clearly hit the former defender pretty hard.

Things went quiet between the two for a while but then she appeared to take a dig at the now retired former Barca star in here new year's message to her fans.

Then it really blew up when the Colombian released a new song that was dripping with digs at her former partner, and his own new partner, signing "You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio."

He took those lines quite literally, picking Casio up as a sponsor for his new seven-a-side competition and then turning up to it whilst driving a Twingo.

Now the latest twist has seen Shakira hosting a house at their former house, on Sunday night, in order to celebrate the success of her 'diss track.'

According to Diario AS, Patrick Kluivert was seen leaving the party with Colombian wife whilst playing the song from her Music Sessions video with Argentine producer Bizarrap from his car.

The former Netherlands striker played for the Nou Camp side from 1998 to 2004, helping them win La Liga in his first season with the club.

He never played alongside Pique but was back at the club a few years ago as technical director of La Masia, the club's famed academy.

Kluivert and his wife are known to be friends of Shakira's, no doubt through the fact the two women are both from Colombia, so his appearance is of no real surprise.

It's not the first time that the wife of a former colleague of his has shown support for his former partner, with Lionel Messi's wife doing similar.

She liked the new year's message from Shakira, amidst a falling out between the two former Barca teammates, over wages when the seven time Ballon d'Or winner left the club.

The 45-year-old artist is said to have made a lot of money from her song, with claims she made $512,000 from YouTube, $500,000 from Amazon Music, $360,000 from Spotify and $1,200,000 from Apple Music - bringing the total to $2,500,000.

Although it isn't as much money as the 35-year-old former Manchester United defender made from the recent Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

His firm brokered the deal to take the Supercopa to the Middle East and made €4 million in commission, more than his old club and rivals Real Madrid made from competing in last week's final.
