Fans think Shakira's new song contains brutal dig at ex Gerard Pique and his new partner

Lyrics from Shakira's new song appear to refer to ex partner Gerard Pique.

Shakira appears to have had a dig at ex partner Gerard Pique and his new girlfriend in her latest song.

The Colombian megastar was with former Barcelona defender Pique for 11 years and they raised sons Milan and Sasha.

However, they announced they were splitting up back in June and there have been a flurry of reports regarding their relationship.

The 45-year-old has aimed subtle stabs at her former beau on Instagram and made references to the past relationship in singles Te Felicito and Monotonía.

But now the She Wolf singer has been a bit more obvious in a new track with Argentine producer Bizarrap, whose 'Music Sessions' have been a huge hit on YouTube.

It was posted on YouTube on January 11 and has already racked up 28 million views.

And it sees Shakira diss Pique and his current lover, 23-year-old, Clara Chia Marti.

In Spanish, she sings: "I'm too big for you, that's why you're with someone just like you,"

As per The Sun, another brutal lyric reads: "This is for me to mortify you, chew and swallow so it doesn't sting, I won't return to you any more even if you cry or beg me.

"I understood that it's not my fault that they criticize you, I only make music, sorry that I splashed you."

Shakira and Pique are reportedly in the middle of a custody battle over their two children, while recently she was furious after her eldest son was featured in the Spaniard's Twitch stream.

In response, her office said Shakira, "in no case gave her prior consent nor was she consulted about the participation of her son Milan in the broadcast of an event by Gerard Piqué‘s company, in a discussion of adult content.”

Pique retired from football in November but has been busy with other ventures, notably the seven-a-side 'Kings League' competition he is running with streamer Ibai Llanos.

Games include golden cards, water polo kick-offs, hockey style penalty shoot-outs and sin bins.
