Shakira has made a ridiculous amount of money from throwing shade at ex Gerard Pique in songs

Shakira has referenced ex Gerard Pique in three songs, making a series of brutal digs in the latest track.

Pop sensation Shakira is believed to have made a staggering amount of money for songs dissing ex Gerard Pique.

The couple split last year and the break-up has been in the spotlight even more of late after Shakira released a diss track whereby she slated her former beau.

In the link up with Argentine producer Bizarrap for 'Music Sessions 53', which has garnered a 127 million views on YouTube, Shakira tells Pique "I'm too big for you, that's why you're with someone just like you."

She also sings: "This is for me to mortify you, chew and swallow so it doesn't sting, I won't return to you any more even if you cry or beg me.

"I understood that it's not my fault that they criticize you, I only make music, sorry that I splashed you.

"No hard feelings babe. I wish you good luck with my so-called replacement. I don't even know what happened, you're acting so weird I don't even recognise you."

The Colombian also made reference to Pique and his new 23-year-old girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, saying:"I'm worth two 22-year-olds. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio."

As per MARCA, Telecinco's morning show 'El Programa de Ana Rosa', the 45-year-old has collected a whole lot of money from various streaming services for her most recent release.

She is said to have made $512,000 from YouTube, $500,000 from Amazon Music, $360,000 from Spotify and $1,200,000 from Apple Music - bringing the total to $2,500,000.

'Te felicito' is another song also released with a subtle mention to Pique and that earned the She-Wolf singer $10 million.

Overall, with the two-month old track 'Monotonia' featuring Ozuna factored in, it's estimated Shakira has added an extra $15 million for music about her past relationship.

Pique, meanwhile, doesn't appear to be too bothered with Shakira's digs. On a Twitch stream, he jokingly announced Casio as a sponsor of his seven-a-side 'Kings League' - in reference to a lyric from the fresh hit.

He then went a step further by pulling up in a white Renault Twingo in another genius response to his partner of 11 years.
