David Neres Interview Instantly Goes Viral After Bizarre Napoli Answer

David Neres went viral on social media after a bizarre post-match interview following Napoli's win over Roma.

Napoli star David Neres has gone viral for a bizarre interview after his heroics against Napoli.

Neres joined Napoli from Benfica in 2024 and helped the Naples outfit win the Serie A title for the fourth time in his first season with the club.

Antonio Conte's men are again challenging for the Scudetto this team and find themselves second in the table after 13 games - only behind leaders AC Milan by a single goal.

On Sunday, Neres bagged the only goal of the game as Napoli ran out 1-0 winners away at Roma - scoring his third of the campaign to equal last season's tally.

His winner continued his rich vein of form following a double against Atalanta and a Man of the Match performance against Qarabag.

But the Brazilian set social media ablaze with a hilariously brilliant post-match interview with DAZN.

Neres was whisked in for media duties alongside goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, where the interviewed asked him, "A brace against Atalanta, a huge performance in the UCL and this winner tonight. Are you back?".

The former Ajax man simply, replied: "I never left. I’ve always been here." His response caught Milinkovic-Savic off-guard and he couldn't help but laugh.

The clip widely circulated on social media, with fans deeming his response to have been funny and cold in equal measure.

Discussing the situation at the top of the table, Neres added: "Of course, we are the champions and we want to be the next champions, but if you don’t perform every week, you’ll not get there. We have to keep pushing.”

Neres' infamous DM to model partner

The winger is known for comedy and infamously slid into the DM's of his german model fiancee Kira Winona by simply writing,"'I am David Neres. Come to me."

It worked perfectly, with the couple now engaged and with a child.

"| didn't have to do much to get my current girlfriend," Neres told Het Parool.

"I saw her on Instagram and I send her a DM with: 'I am David Neres. Come to me.'

"That was enough for a date. German women apparently love Brazilian men."

Neres asked Kira to marry him at a restaurant in 2024 after opening his account for Napoli in a 3-1 win over Como. He series of snaps on his Instagram, with the caption: "04.10.2024 she said yes."
