Scott McTominay was furious with the antics of Georgia players after they held Scotland to a 2-2 draw in their Euro 2024 qualifier.

Despite being a dead rubber with Scotland already qualified and Georgia out, Thursday's contest wasn't for the faint-hearted.

Georgia and Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave the home side the lead inside 15 minutes before McTominay netted his seventh goal in Group A to draw Steve Clarke's side level.

Kvaratskhelia restored Georgia's lead in the second half, but Lawrence Shankland popped up in the 93rd minute to salvage a point.

McTominay, who only has Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku ahead of him in qualifying goalscoring, spoke to Viaplay Football post-match and expressed frustration at his opponents.

The Manchester United midfielder claimed they acted like 'babies' and attempted to provoke the referee.

He said: "Every game at this level is big and obviously they’ve got some really good players.

"But the way they were acting on the pitch I thought was a disgrace in terms of provoking the referee and it’s not the way it should go, but anyway, that’s football.

"They should do something about people pretending they’re injured when they’re not.

"It’s a difficult one to call, but rolling around crying like babies is not football and we just wanted to get on with the game and play and do our best to try and win.

"Whereas on the other side, they were provoking the referee a lot. There are some disappointed heads in the dressing room, but I think it’s something we can build on, coming back twice."

McTominay continuing his goalscoring form will delight United manager Erik ten Hag, who was open to letting the 26-year-old leave in the summer.

United have struggled for goals in attack this term. Marcus Rashford's strike against Arsenal back in September remains the sole contribution.

Rasmus Hojlund is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League, while Antony, Anthony Martial, Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri haven't opened their accounts either.
