Bayern Munich are growing increasingly confident that they’ll secure the services of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane this summer, according to German outlet Bild.
The Bundesliga champions are in the market for a winger, with Serge Gnabry’s contract talks supposedly stalling, and they believe Mane is keen on making the switch.
The Senegalese international confirmed on Tuesday that he’d publicise his potential move away from Anfield following Saturday night’s Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris.

French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, were understood to be interested in acquiring Mane, but due to the financial resources allocated to Kylian Mbappe’s new deal, this is no longer deemed feasible. Bayern believe this leaves them a clear path to sign the player.
The 30-year-old has scored 120 goals in 268 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side, following his £34 million switch from Southampton in 2016.
He’ll be looking to win his second Champions League medal with the Reds this weekend, and his 7th major honour on Merseyside.
If Liverpool do prevail in Paris, it will conclude a sensational personal season for Mane, having scored 23 goals and having lifted the League Cup, the FA Cup and the African Cup of Nations already this campaign.

Despite the plethora of successful seasons he’s enjoyed at Liverpool, Mane may now feel he’s ready for a new challenge. Bayern could present themselves as this new challenge, in a new league at a historic club.
The former-Southampton man’s current contract expires in June 2023, so this summer would represent a natural time to depart the North West.
