Throughout the recently concluded 2021/22 campaign, Liverpool’s Sadio Mané has been consistently linked with German heavyweights Bayern Munich. Now it has been revealed that if the Senegalese international was to complete the move, his annual wages would be around €20 (£17) million, according to BILD.

Since joining Liverpool from Southampton in 2016 for a fee of £34 million, Mané has won every major trophy possible including a Premier league and Champions League title, as well as winning the 2018/19 golden boot award with 22 goals. He established himself as one of Liverpool’s star players.

However, on the days leading up to the Champions league final it was announced the Liverpool man was unhappy with his current role at the club and was seriously considering a new challenge elsewhere with Bayern Munich being the front runners for his signature.

Currently on £6.2 million (€7.2 million) a year, Mané sits behind the likes of Mohammed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, and summer signing Thiago in the list of Liverpool’s top earners.

It is evident that the former Saint is progressively realising his status at Liverpool is slowly deteriorating and that a move to German giants Bayern Munich will boost his confidence and get him playing his best football at a club where he is highly valued. Mané would be one of Bayern’s top earners with a €20 million yealy salary, more than double his current earnings at Liverpool

With Liverpool asking a surprisingly low set price of £42.5 million for the forward and Bayern’s star striker Robert Lewandowski set to be leaving to Bacelona it almost seems inevitable that the Liverpool number 10 will be departing for the German club this summer.
