Herbert Hainer, the Bayern Munich Chief has recently come out and said that the club have the power to sign whoever they want. Further adding fuel to the fire over the speculation of Sadio Mané’s future.

The Liverpool star has been linked with a move away for some time now, with his 6 year stint at the club looking like it’s coming to an end. During his 6 years at the Reds, Mané has scored 120 times from 269 appearances, winning the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the process.

Bayern Munich have been the frontrunners for the Senegalese’s signature since the conclusion of the 2021/2022 season, with Mané seemingly keen for a new challenge.

Robert Lewandowski’s potential departure to Barcelona has Bayern in need of a replacement. Perhaps why Mané is being so heavily linked to the German giants, with the player playing down the middle as of late with Liverpool.

Largely playing as a centre forward, Mané has scored 23 goals for the Reds this season, an impressive tally for a player who is more comfortable playing on the wing. His versatility is a factor which is perhaps attracting Bayern, with him able to fill in for either Serge Gnabry or Leroy Sane on the wings, as well as a centre forward.

It is now time for Hainer to put his money where his mouth is, with it fascinating to see what Bayern’s first concrete steps will be in their hunt for the player.
