Rodrygo came off the bench to save Real Madrid with two late goals to send their Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City to extra time.

Madrid looked to be on course for a 1-0 defeat on the night, and a 5-3 loss on aggregate, after Riyad Mahrez's second-half strike had put City ahead at the Bernabeu.

But the match burst back into life when second-half substitute Rodrygo pulled one back in the final minute of normal time.

Then two minutes later he levelled the tie with a superb header to send the home fans into a state of delirium.

It was yet another dramatic turnaround from the Spanish champions, who have already produced remarkable comebacks against Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea in previous rounds of the competition.

Madrid had struggled to create chances up until that point and had not had a single shot on target before Rodrygo's equaliser.

Fans on social media were stunned by their dramatic comeback.

"How many comebacks are Madrid going to do? Nuts," wrote one fan on Twitter.

Another added: "Lost for words! Wow. What a comeback Real Madrid."

A third wrote: "Ain't no team on planet earth pulling off that kinda comeback against City, except Real Madrid.

"They're truly incredible."
