Real Madrid newboy Arda Guler headed to the stage before Florentino Perez had finished making his presentation speech – and it makes for wonderfully awkward viewing.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder was officially unveiled as a Los Blancos player on Friday.

A fee of around £25 million has been reported for the highly-rated teenager following an impressive season at Fenerbahce that included six goals and seven assists in 35 appearances.

Turkey international Guler, who was chased by a number of top European clubs this summer, including Barcelona and Arsenal, will soon join up with his new teammates.

But before doing so, the teenager was introduced to the Spanish media, where he spoke about his preferred position, the advice he received from Mesut Ozil and more.

He also accidentally stage-crashed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez during his lengthy speech – a moment that soon went viral on social media.

One fan commented on the footage, saying: "Lmfaooooo Güler got up way too early during Florentino’s speech. I love this guy already," while another wrote: "The excitement to play for Real Madrid is real."

A third added: "That was THE MOST awkward thing i've ever witnessed...my whole face went red."

So what did Perez say? The 76-year-old welcomed 'the Turkish Messi' to the Bernabeu with a powerful message.

“Arda, your talent and hard work have brought you to most beloved and admired club in the world," he said.

"From today, you are a Real Madrid player. Welcome and thank you for choosing this club to write your story. At just 18 years of age, you have already fulfilled one of the greatest dreams of your life.

"Here, you will continue to grow, not only in football but also in the values of hard work, self-improvement, sacrifice, commitment, respect, humility, solidarity and never giving up."

Perez added: "You already understand the responsibility of playing for a great club, as you did so at a club we are friends with, Fenerbahçe. Now, you have the biggest challenge of your career ahead of you. The Santiago Bernabéu awaits you.

"There you will find a fanbase that will support you until the end. You will experience emotions that you will never forget and that’s what brought you to Real Madrid.

"You wanted to experience the feeling of playing for Real Madrid and now you are starting to make that dream come true. Welcome to your new home.”

Soon after, Guler explained why he decided to choose Real Madrid ahead of bitter rivals Barcelona before speaking about some of the legends that have represented the 14-time Champions League winners.

"Many clubs wanted to sign me and we were in contact with many of them, but Real Madrid was my preference," he said. "When Real Madrid expressed interest, the other offers weren’t as interesting. I want to give this club all my talent.”

He added: “Real Madrid has an impressive history. I remember the Champions League finals, watching them with my friends. They have had so many great players, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Mesut Özil, Guti.

"For me, Luka Modrić is the best midfielder in the world and I think I’ll learn a lot from him. I want to also form part of this history.”
