Son-Heung Min Explains Why He Won't Get Married During Football Career
It's no coincidence that Tottenham forward Son Heung Min has established himself as one of the Premier League's elite since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.
Hard work, dedication and an incredibly single-minded approach has catapulted the South Korean to the very top.
He was a crucial member of Spurs' push for the Premier League title this season, and many have praised his work ethic and mentality throughout.
But did you know that the 26-year-old will not marry until he retires?
In a brilliant interview with The Guardian, Son spoke about how his father told him that when you marry, the number one will be family, wife and kids - and then football.
"My father says this and I agree, as well," Son said.
"When you marry, the number one will be family, wife and kids, and then football. I want to make sure that while I play at the top level, football can be number one. You don't know how long you can play at the top level.
"When you retire, or when you are 33 or 34, you can still have a long life with your family."
Son's likable personality, combined with his performances on the pitch, have made him a fan favourite for club and country, with his incredible reaction to South Korea's Asian Games triumph at the start of September winning the hearts of many.
The forward captained his national side to the Gold medal, beating Japan 2-1 in the final thanks to extra time strikes from Seungwoo Lee and Hwang Hee Chan.
Son assisted both goals in the final and he and his colleagues earned automatic exemption from compulsory military service.
Is Son one of the best forwards in the Premier League right now? Can he help Spurs win the Champions League next weekend?
