Son Heung-min proved he is the nicest guy in football with a kind gesture towards the referee during Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace.

On Friday night, Spurs arrived at Selhurst Park looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points.

Spurs went 2-0 up thanks to an own goal by Joel Ward and a strike from Son.

A late goal from Jordan Ayew threatened a Palace comeback but Ange Postecoglou’s men held on for a vital 2-1 win.

During the match, Son reportedly made a kind gesture to the referee, proving he is possibly the nicest guy in football.

According to Football 234 TV on Twitter: “Heung-min Son took a bottle of water from the Crystal Palace medical staff, before then offering the referee a sip.

“A player that is impossible to hate.”

Since joining Spurs, Son has developed into one of the finest players in world football and his personality has made him a popular figure amongst fans.

Speaking after the match, Son was asked whether Spurs are thinking about a title charge.

The South Korean international told Sky Sports: “Not at all, I think you know my answer.

“We just want to stay on the ground, stay humble because it’s early in the season so we just want to look game by game and try to get three points every single game and then we will see what will happen at the end of the season.”

Son added: “We will work hard and let’s see what is going to happen.”

Spurs will be back in action on 6 November when they take on London rivals Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
