Phil Jones Attempts Piece Of Skill But Accidentally Nutmegs Himself

But instead, the centre-back clumsily nutmegged himself in what might be the most Phil Jones video of all time.

There's a reason why EA Sports gave you two star skill moves, Phil.

Manchester United went on to complete an undefeated pre-season, beating the Serie A side in a tense penalty shoot-out after goals from Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard in normal time.

In terms of great Phil Jones content, the at-times-graceless defender gave us with another moment of magic during the club's pre-season friendly against Norwegian side Kristiansund.

The 27-year-old attempted an audacious overhead kick, leaving fans in Oslo's Ullevaal Stadium with a priceless memory.

In the 10th minute of the game, Jones turned his back towards goal and flung himself in the air.

It was all going swimmingly until his arm got in the way, deflecting his right-footed effort away from goal.

Jones, who has more Premier League titles than Steven Gerrard, will always be known more for his priceless facial expressions that his ability on the ball.

In fact, even the man himself gets sent pictures of his own face by his mates in a WhatsApp chat - and he's learned to just accept it.

"It's banter, my mates banter me all the time about it," he told Goal in an interview.

"It is what it is. I'm not too fussed about that either. My mates send me pictures every single night on the Whatsapp group taking the mick out of me. It's banter, it is what it is. It doesn't bother me."

Never change, Phil.
