Liverpool Fans Aren't Impressed With The Price Of Their Limited Edition Shirt
You'd have thought that team called the 'Reds' would be celebrating their 125th birthday by painting the town red. Instead Liverpool are bringing out a black fourth shirt and fans aren't happy with the price.
When it comes to football in England Liverpool are historically the second best team ever, having won the second most first division titles, and are easily one of the most recognisable names in world football.
This year the 18 time English champions turn 125 and New Balance brought out a retro looking kit to celebrate, although Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his team can celebrate with a Premier League title instead.
And now the club's kit manufacturers have brought out a 'fourth' kit to also commemorate the quasquicentennial anniversary. The all black kit is the same design as the first shirt and it very nice. The only problem is it'll never be worn by the players and it costs £90 for the fans to buy one!
How does this jersey 'celebrate 125 years of #LFC' exactly? Got no relevance to our history or heritage at all.- Emma & Dave (@ElmDag) September 18, 2017
Not even a kit it's just a shirt for £90 that they will never wear anyway- David Tierney (@tierney1811) September 18, 2017
£90 for that shirt, nah you're alright- Rachael (@liverbabygirl) September 18, 2017
"It's our 125th anniversary! Buy a £90 shirt now, because you love us!"- Tom. (@Tomffs) September 18, 2017
Don't you think £90 is ridiculous?! You can buy the Home and Away shirt for that at most retailers. Costs the same to make, ripping us off..- Quinnetic (@Quinnetic_) September 18, 2017
£90 for a shirt the players are never going to wear? As nice as it is, thats a piss take.- Jimmy (@EntireDesign_) September 18, 2017
That black shirt is quality, but £90 is a joke. Could literally just soak the red one in black dye and it would look exactly the same.- Charlie Bateman (@charliebateman4) September 18, 2017
@PeterMooreLFC crazy that new shirt alone being £90, 4 kits in one season? Absolutely milking fans. £210 on 3 kids kits already this season.- Mark (@Mark_85) September 18, 2017
What do you make of Liverpool's new shirt?
