Footage confirms Lionel Messi was the only player to have 'GOAT' on the sleeve of PSG training top

Lionel Messi had 'GOAT' on the sleeve of his warm-up jersey ahead of PSG's 2-1 win Champions League win over Juventus.

Lionel Messi's status as the 'GOAT' has been confirmed as he was the only player to have the word on his Paris Saint-Germain warm-up jersey on Tuesday night.

'GOAT', a sneaker marketplace similar to Stock X set up in 2015, are the new sleeve sponsor for PSG.

They became an official partner of PSG's in April and their association further developed in July when they progressed to a "principal partner".

The logo for the company, which has the slogan, "the global platform for the past, present and future", can be seen on the sleeves of kits, training shirts and other match related apparel.

The deal is worth €50 million over three years, according to French publication L'Equipe.

But ahead of the Juventus victory, it was only seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi who had GOAT on the sleeve out of all the PSG players.

The rest of the stars, like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, simply had a blank space where Messi had the logo printed.

In the actual game all of the players had GOAT on their sleeve but appears as though it's a special deal with Messi in regards to their warm-up jersey.

Messi was involved in the official photoshoot to mark the partnership and is almost definitely a key factor behind the partnership.

In 2018, Messi took part in one of the most iconic photoshoots of all time when he posed with an actual goat for Paper Magazine.

He was the outlet's cover star for June and the images taken by photographer Carles Carab for the feature were simply sensational.

PSG beat Juventus 2-1 thanks to a first-half brace from Mbappe, with Weston McKennie reducing the deficit for the visitors early in the second half.

The game featured an incredible bust-up between Sergio Ramos and Leandro Paredes, who were teammates up until the Argentine midfielder joined Juve on loan a week ago.

Ramos grabbed the former Roma man by the throat in the first half following a foul on Mbappe and was cautioned by referee Anthony Taylor.
