The Tottenham squad were 'sick' of Thomas Frank taking about one topic during his spell in charge of the club.
Frank was relieved of his duties on Wednesday in the wake of Spurs' crushing 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday.
He lasted just eight months in charge and leaves Spurs 16th in the Premier League table, five points above the relegation zone.
They are winless in their past eight league games, which incidentally is the club's longest run without a victory since October 2008.

According to the bookies, a favourite has emerged to replace Frank at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Dane leaves Spurs following a dire run of form, with the club saying they had been 'determined to give Frank the time and support needed to build for the future together', but performances and recent results 'meant a change at this point is necessary'.

A statement read: "Throughout his time at the club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the club forward.
"We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future."
The writing was on the wall, with one source revealing how the squad wanted Frank to 'shut up' about Arsenal.
The source claims the 52-year-old always spoke about the Gunners, leaving the squad 'sick' of it

"He was constantly going on to the players about Arsenal and they quickly got sick of it. Even before and after the game at the Emirates, he was telling them how good Arsenal were. The feeling among some was very much 'just shut up about Arsenal'," the source told Telegraph Sport.
As it happens, Spurs resume their faltering league campaign at home to cross-city rivals Arsenal on February 22.
Frank was convinced he was going to be in charge of the North London derby.
Speaking after Spurs' defeat to Newcastle, he said: "Yeah, I am convinced I will be.
"I understand the question. It is easy to point on me but it is never only the head coach, ownership, players or staff. It is everyone.
"Everyone knows what position we are in and what we need to improve on. That is what we are working hard on."
Spurs are expected to appoint an interim manager before hiring a permanent successor to Frank in the summer.
