Rio Ferdinand's second son is starring in a Premier League club's academy and has been described as a 'leader' following his commanding performances.
Ferdinand enjoyed a legendary playing career, winning six Premier League titles with Manchester United.
The 46-year-old, who came through West Ham United's youth academy before joining Leeds United, is widely regarded as one of the greatest centre-backs of his generation following his stellar spell at Old Trafford.
He retired in 2015 before moving into punditry but his sons are continuing the Ferdinand legacy, with his oldest son signing a professional contract with Brighton.

The former England international's second son, Tate, is also on the books at Brighton and is following in his dad's footsteps as he plays in the same position.
The 17-year-old was spotted playing for the Seagulls in the Sussex Transport Senior Cup against Isthmian South East side Hassocks and delivered a solid showing at the back, helping his side keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 win.

According to a match report from The Argus, Tate, who was wearing the No.5 shirt, 'moved and sounded' just like his dad while on the pitch.

He also looked comfortable on the ball and showed off his range of passing, hitting a few diagonal long balls towards the right wing with his left foot.

Tate joined Brighton's academy in 2024 and has made six appearances in the Under-18 Premier League this season.
He will catch the eye given his famous surname, but the club's youth coach Bjorn Hamberg insists Tate is carving out his own legacy.

"I am sure he doesn’t care about that (attention)," he said.
"Tate Ferdinand is Tate Ferdinand and he needs to be play his game and have his pathway and career.
"For us as a team, for the under-18s as a captain, he is a big voice in our dressing room.
"He is obviously a leader in the back line and playing very well for the moment.
