Devastating moment punter misses out on £800,000 after cashing out just minutes too early on bet

This could be the worst cash-out of all time.

A punter may have taken the crown for 'worst cash-out in history' after missing out on nearly one million pounds of a three-stake accumulator on the final day.

The Premier League season finally came to boiling point as Manchester City just managed to get themselves over the line ahead of Arsenal with a 3-1 win against West Ham at the Etihad.

Arsenal did all they could by securing the three points against Everton despite initially falling behind to an Idrissa Gana Gueye free-kick and scoring a controversial late winner after an alleged handball from Gabriel Jesus.

Another huge development on the final day was Manchester United finishing in their lowest position in Premier League history in eighth.

This means Erik ten Hag's last hope of European football next season lies in the FA Cup final against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

There wasn't just drama on the field on the Premier League final day, as one punter made a huge error as he cashed out a staggering 3717/1 bet far too early.

The punter had managed to craft together those huge odds with just three stakes, as he bet on the correct scoreline for three Premier League fixtures.

The score lines predicted were Brighton 0-2 Manchester United, Liverpool 2-0 Wolves and Sheffield United 0-3 Spurs.

The lad cashed out for a huge £5,130 from £219 with just fifteen minutes remaining as Diogo Dalot opened the scoring making him just one goal away from a huge £814,000 win.

With already five thousand on the table, it isn't that surprising the punter chose the play it safe and cash out, but he might not have been feeling too great about his decision when Rasmus Hojlund made it 2-0 in the 88th minute.

Had the punter just not checked the scores for the final stages of the games it would have earned him 163 times the amount he took home. It is safe to say he will probably be the saddest person to have made 5k of £200 over the weekend.

Reacting to his unlucky cashout, Ethan said: “I was just tamping [Welsh word for furious] really - just heartbroken - disbelief if anything.

“I was looking at new cars, new houses, but obviously it's a different story now. My family and friends were in disbelief as well.”

He continued: “But obviously they're happy that I won the five grand.”

Ethan also revealed that he will be taking a break from betting, he said: “I've come out of it now. I've just won that and run.

“I'll have to get over this one first. It's just the 50/50 chance of it - you either cash out or you don't. I'm just gutted really.”
