Fulham are on the brink of announcing a signing in March - two months after submitting a bid for one of their top transfer targets.
The Cottagers made just the one transfer in the January market, acquiring Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for a fee of £27 million.
But they also tried to bring in PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi, making a £28 million bid late in the window.
That was before they thrashed out of a deal for Bobb, but with PSV not having much time to find a replacement, the Eredivisie side refused to sanction the transfer.

Fulham's interest remained though and the transfer finally looks set to go through, with the BBC reporting that Pepi has travelled to the capital for a medical.
ESPN said that PSV accepted an offer of £28.5 million and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
The club are in the market for a new number nine, with Raul Jimenez out of contract in the summer and Rodrigo Muniz scoring just once in an injury-hit 2025/26 campaign.
Pepi has caught the eye for the Eredivisie leaders, having notched 13 goals in 29 appearances - including three in five Champions League games.

Though the deal is poised to he finalised, the 23-year-old will not be joining imminently and is instead expected to move to Fulham after the World Cup.
Born in El Paso, Texas, Pepi started out at North Texas FC before moving on to FC Dallas in the MLS.
He enjoyed a prolific 2021 season, hitting 13 goals in 31 appearances and winning the MLS Young Player of the Year award.

Pepi moved to Europe with FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga and his first experience in the Netherlands was with Groningen, where he scored 12 goals on loan in the 2022/2023 campaign.
PSV brought him in and Pepi continued to bang in the goals, with 39 goals in 95 appearances for the Dutch giants.
Fans of Fulham and the Premier League are set to get a good look at Pepi in the summer as he is poised to be included in the United States' squad for the World Cup on home soil.
Pep has 13 goals in 32 games for the US, who are in Group D for the showpiece.
He will be looking to add to his tally in upcoming friendlies, with Mauricio Pochettino's men taking on Belgium and Portugal just days apart.
