The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw has been simulated and it has set up some thrilling Premier League ties.

Liverpool, Arsenal and United are all in action on Wednesday night as the the round of 16 comes to an end, with the quarter-finals to take place in December.

Southampton and Brentford have already progressed to the next stage after winning their fixtures on Tuesday night, and now eagerly await the news of their next opponents.

The draw for the quarter-finals will take place following the conclusion of the exciting clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, and a simulation of the draw has provided some mouth-watering fixtures.

Ahead of the tonight's draw, which is expected to take place around 10.30pm, a simulation has decided who will play each other in the next round of the Carabao Cup.

Should Arsenal get past Preston North End, the only non-top flight club still remaining in the competition, they face one of two massive fixtures, with the simulation handing them a home tie against either Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester City.

Following the sacking of Erik ten Hag, Ruud van Nistelrooy will lead Manchester United for the first time as interim manager against Leicester City on Wednesday.

And if he can take them to only their second win since the last Carabao Cup fixture in September, he will set up a home tie against either long-term rivals Liverpool or high-flying Brighton.

Both Liverpool and Brighton beat United in their first Premier League meetings early in the season, meaning this potential tie would offer a chance for redemption to the new manager at Old Trafford.

After narrowly making it past Sheffield Wednesday in a penalty shootout on Tuesday, the simulation has given Brentford an away day either against London rivals Crystal Palace, or Aston Villa.

Finally, Southampton have been given a match against either Newcastle United or Chelsea after a late winner secured a 3-2 win over Stoke City on Tuesday evening.
