Manchester City fans are absolutely loving the emotional exchange between Pep Guardiola and Kevin De Bruyne following their Champions League triumph.

The Blues finally won the Champions League after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul earlier this month.

It's been Guardiola's mission to win the prestigious trophy since he joined the club in 2016, having suffered heartbreak in 2021 when his side lost to Chelsea.

But he finally got his hands on the trophy following his team's victory over Inter and it proved to be an emotional journey.

That's judging by the 52-year-old's interaction with star midfielder De Bruyne following the final whistle, captured by Man City's official short film.

The Belgium international thanked Guardiola, who said: "We did it. We did it. We did it. Seven years of fighting, we did it. We did it, Kev! Now we have it!"

Man City fans loved the touching moment between Guardiola and De Bruyne.

One Twitter user wrote: "That shivering tone from Pep and their long hug is too moving."

A second tweeted: "I wish we could tie them down at city forever."

A third added: "Just amazing. We really have gone through the ringer when it comes to heartbreak in Europe and them 2 have experienced it all. Some feeling to finally do it."

A fourth said: "These two are the foundations of Man City... when they go it’s over."

Another commented: "I love Pep so much man having a manager with passion one that actually cares and shows their emotion."

It's the third time Guardiola has won the Champions League as a manager, having won it twice during his Barcelona spell.

But it was the first time De Bruyne had won the competition during his stellar career.
