Nottingham Forest interested in signing three-time Champions League winner Keylor Navas

Nottingham Forest are thinking about making a huge move for former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas in January.

Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest haven't shied away from splashing the cash since securing promotion – and they could be about to clinch their most audacious move yet.

Steve Cooper's side spent over £150 million on transfers in the summer, with notable additions including Morgan Gibbs-White [£42.5m], Emmanuel Dennis [£20mi] and Taiwo Awoniyi [£17.5m].

Jesse Lingard and Renan Lodi were perhaps the most talked about captures, alongside first-choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who arrived at the City Ground on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

That being said, the 25-year-old shot stopper will likely be ruled out until the end of February after picking up a thigh injury in Saturday's 2-0 win over Leicester.

Forest are therefore looking for a replacement. Wales international Wayne Hennessey is, of course, available as back-up but the club are exploring their options.

And one of the names being touted is three-time Champions League winner Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rica international, who made three appearances at last year's World Cup, is struggling to find regular first-team minutes at Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

He is open to a move away from the French giants, according to The Athletic, who suggest Forest are considering an 'audacious' move for the 36-year-old goalkeeper.

A number of clubs have been linked in recent days, including Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, who recently handed Cristiano Ronaldo an eye-watering £177m salary.

But the lure of Premier League football could play a deciding factor, with struggling Bournemouth also expressing an interest.

Navas joined Paris Saint-Germain from Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 and signed a four-year deal with Les Parisiens.

He enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in Madrid, winning three consecutive Champions League titles. But the experienced goalkeeper has struggled to break into PSG's team with the emergence of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

In fact, Navas has made just one appearances for the club this season – a third round Coupe De France clash against LB Chateauroux.

Thoughts on Forest being linked with a move for Navas? Would it be a good move?
